During this unsettling time, we wanted to reach out to our patients and reassure you of our commitment to maintaining a safe, clean environment at Noble Cosmetic Surgery because it has been our top priority. Additionally, please take note of the following:
  • As a cosmetic medicine facility, we typically do not service sick patients. Our patients elect to have procedures that are not medically necessary, so your risk of running into an ill patient is lower than that of other healthcare facilities.
  • Our surgeries and other treatments are performed in our private facilities used purely for elective treatments.
We continue to monitor the coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak and are actively following the guidelines and recommendations from the Centers for Disease Control (CDC), World Health Organization (WHO) as well as our local, state and federal government agencies. Our usual guidelines include universal precautions, frequent handwashing, and frequent sanitizing of all patient areas. For the most up-to-date information, please check the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) website about this evolving situation, how to reduce the risk of spreading illness, travel health notices, and more.

The best way to prevent illness is to avoid being exposed to this virus. Currently, as the Coronavirus is thought to spread mainly from person to person, we have now adopted several enhanced safety measures to decrease the risk of exposure to you and the community which include the following:
  • Please wash your hands with soap and water for at least 20 seconds or use the hand sanitizers provided when you enter our offices.
  • If you feel unwell or anyone in your household may have been exposed to COVID-19 through travel or attendance at large gatherings less than two weeks ago, please call us at your earliest convenience so we can reschedule you!
  • If you need to cough or sneeze, do so into the crease of your elbow and immediately wash your hands.
  • Know the symptoms of Coronavirus: tiredness, fever, weakness, shortness of breath, and diarrhea. This virus is lower respiratory focused, so you may not have upper respiratory symptoms like a runny nose, sore throat, and congestion.
  • Take these additional preventive actions to stop the spread of germs: wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds, avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth, and clean and disinfect frequently touched objects and surfaces.
We hope each of you will stay safe & healthy as we navigate this complex situation together.

Sincerely,
Dr. Obasi & the staff at Noble Cosmetic Surgery

What to expect from the Tummy Tuck Procedure

When you are considering a tummy tuck procedure, it is important to understand what to expect. This surgical procedure can help improve the appearance of your abdomen by removing excess skin and fat. However, it is a major operation that should not be taken lightly. Dr. Patrick Obasi is a cosmetic plastic surgeon at Noble Cosmetic Surgery serving patients in the Plano, Frisco and McKinney, Texas areas who works with potential patients to discuss the tummy tuck procedure in detail and help individuals understand what to expect from it.

What is tummy tuck surgery?

The tummy tuck surgery is a cosmetic procedure that removes excess skin and fat from the abdomen. This can help improve the appearance of your stomach area and create a more defined waistline. The surgery is typically performed as an outpatient procedure, meaning you will not have to stay in the hospital overnight. However, it is still a major operation and should not be taken lightly.

Who is a good candidate for a tummy tuck?

Most people considering a tummy tuck are unhappy with the appearance of their abdomen. The surgery can be helpful for both men and women who have excess skin and fat around their midsection, as well as those who have lost significant weight but are left with loose skin. It is important to note that the tummy tuck is not a weight loss surgery, and you should be at or near your ideal body weight to see optimal results.

What happens during a tummy tuck?

Several different types of tummy tucks can be performed based on your particular needs, but they all involve making an incision along the lower abdomen area. As the performing surgeon, Dr. Patrick Obasi would separate the skin from the abdominal wall before removing excess fat and skin using liposuction. Once this has been completed, Dr. Obasi then tightens up the loose muscles to enhance your waistline before placing drains and closing the incision with stitches. Sutures are typically removed about two weeks after surgery, so it is vital that patients get plenty of rest and avoid any strenuous activities during this time.
