Phoenix CO2 Laser For Skin Rejuvenation

As we age, our skin will inevitably age with us. What this means for each individual can be different, but common signs of aging include fine lines and wrinkles. Our skin is our first line of defense. It is the one part of our body that is constantly exposed to the elements around us, so it makes sense that it could need a rejuvenation at some point. Even for those who may be younger, something like acne scarring could leave you wanting better, more rejuvenated skin. At Noble Cosmetic Surgery, Dr. Patrick Obasi and his team offer skin rejuvenation treatments that utilize the Phoenix CO2 Laser.

The Phoenix CO2 Laser

We are proud to offer the Phoenix CO2 Laser as an effective and safe method to repair and rejuvenate skin for our patients. This skin resurfacing device is able to treat uneven pigmentation, reduce fine lines and wrinkles, reduce or eliminate sunspots, improve skin texture, and improve or eliminate acne scarring.

How Does It Work?

The Phoenix CO2 laser functions by gently removing the upper layers of skin that have started showing signs of aging or damage. Issues caused by environmental exposures, such as sunspots or acne scarring and other genetic predisposition skin issues, can all contribute to its diminishing luster. The Phoenix CO2 laser removes this damaged outermost skin layer (or layers), allowing healthy, newer skin cells to make their way to the surface. Popular areas for treatment include the face, neck, chest, and hands. Other areas of the body can be treated as well.

A welcomed benefit of the Phoenix CO2 laser treatment is that it stimulates the production of collagen by the body. Collagen is a protein responsible for keeping the skin healthy and strong. As we age, collagen production can begin to slow down. With more collagen, our skin can withstand damage more effectively and appear younger for long periods.

While there is no downtime after treatment, you could experience some skin swelling at the treatment site. A topical ointment may be recommended for the first few days after treatment, and the newly exposed skin may have a red tint for some time. You can cover this skin with beauty cosmetics until it regains its normal color. Patients should expect full recovery between 7 and 10 days after the treatment.

What To Expect After Treatment Is Complete

Once you have completed treatment, there are some things you should expect, including:

Avoid direct sunlight. Keeping your skin cool and moist will help with proper healing.
Try to avoid environmental irritants such as dust, dirt, and aerosols during recovery.
Avoid allowing the skin where treatment has occurred to become dried out.
Redness could last several days.
Facial skin should be bronze and peel within seven days. Neck skin can take up to 14 days.
User-prescribed cleansers and ointment should be used after treatment.
