During this unsettling time, we wanted to reach out to our patients and reassure you of our commitment to maintaining a safe, clean environment at Noble Cosmetic Surgery, because providing a safe and healthy environment for our patients and staff has been our top priority. Additionally, please take note of the following:
  • As a cosmetic medicine facility, we typically do not service sick patients. Our patients are electing to have procedures that are not medically necessary, so your risk of running into an ill patient is lower than that of other healthcare facilities.
  • Our surgeries and other treatments are performed in our private facilities that are used purely for elective treatments.
We continue to monitor the coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak, and are actively following the guidelines and recommendations from the Centers for Disease Control (CDC), World Health Organization (WHO) as well as our local, state and federal government agencies. Our usual guidelines include universal precautions, frequent handwashing, and frequent sanitizing of all patient areas. For the most up-to-date information, please check the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) website about this evolving situation, how to reduce the risk of spreading illness, travel health notices, and more.

The best way to prevent illness is to avoid being exposed to this virus. Currently, as the coronavirus is thought to spread mainly from person-to-person, we have now adopted several enhanced safety measures to decrease the risk of exposure to you and the community which include the following:
  • Please wash your hands with soap and water for at least 20 seconds or use the hand sanitizers provided when you enter our offices.
  • If you are feeling unwell or anyone in your household may have been exposed to COVID-19 through travel or attendance at large gatherings less than two weeks ago, please call us at your earliest convenience so we can reschedule you!
  • If you need to cough or sneeze, do so into the crease of your elbow, and then immediately wash your hands.
  • Know the symptoms of Coronavirus: tiredness, fever, weakness, shortness of breath and diarrhea. This virus is lower respiratory focused, so you may not have upper respiratory symptoms like a runny nose, sore throat, and congestion.
  • Take these additional preventive actions to stop the spread of germs-(wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds, avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth, clean and disinfect frequently touched objects and surfaces).
We hope that each of you will stay safe & healthy as we navigate this complex situation together.

How is breast augmentation done at your practice?

Every patient who comes in here we listen to them, they tell us what their chief complaint is and what they want you to help them achieve.

After listening to them we examine them, and we tell them the appropriate treatment that they need.

What does breast augmentation do?

Breast augmentation what it does is enhances what you already have. So, you have to talk to the patient and let them know that breast augmentation just enhances what you have.

At the same time, you have to let them know that breast augmentation mainly is about proportion

How do you figure out who is a good candidate?

Because somebody may walk in and say they want maybe 800cc or 650cc they may not be a good candidate for that.

You have to look at the breasts, the scan and do accurate measurements first and make sure that at the end of the day they get what they are asking for.

Are there different types of implants available?

Right now, there are two FDA approved implants. One is silicone and the other is saline.

Once again you have to examine the patient and find out who they are candidates for. Because most people get silicone implants but for people who are very thin and who do not have a lot of breast issue they may not be a candidate for saline.

Dr. Obasi can talk with you to determine if you’re a good candidate for the Breast Augmentation procedure. Request a consultation with Dr. Obasi by phone 214 – 617-1672 (Plano) & 214 – 617-1682 (Desoto) or online.

Breast Augmentation with Fat Graft

Breast Augmentation with Fat Graft
Video Transcript

Good Morning, I am doctor Patrick Obasi of Noble Cosmetic Surgery. My patient is a female who will have right breast augmentation. Her abdomen and thighs are flat and the fat is to be transferred to the breast, fat transferred to the breast as you know is called breast augmentation. So today this lady has had liposuction on her belly and her thighs. She had the fat very well which works well for the breast. So stay tuned and we will show you the end result after the liposuction.

So we finished the first procedure which is the liposuction of the abdomen and thighs of the client. Right now what we are doing is grafting the fat to the breast. After liposuction for the abdomen of the client, we take away the fluid and the light fat cells so what we are about to do is put the fat into the breast. What I like to do is to go under the muscle and crisscross everything to get all the areas. That can fit in very well. So stay tuned we will show you the end result.

This is Doctor Patrick Obasi at Noble Cosmetic Surgery. As you can see we have finished the fat grafting for the breast, so you can see that it is symmetrical now, this was done at Noble Cosmetic Surgery.

Breast Augmentation Q & A

Breast Augmentation, also called an augmentation mammoplasty, is a procedure that helps to improve fullness, volume, shape, and position of the breasts through implants. Sometimes Dr. Obasi can also use fat harvested from other areas of your body to increase the breast size or add shape.

Patients may opt for a Breast Augmentation due to the natural sagging that comes with age or simply to achieve a bigger cup size. If you’ve had a mastectomy, you may also want breast implants as part of a breast reconstruction operation.

While Breast Augmentation is usually more about increasing the size of the breasts, you may also opt for a breast lift to achieve a more lifted, youthful look.

You and Dr. Obasi determine which type of implant will give you the shape and size for your goals. Your options include:

  • Saline: A liquid that exists in your body naturally; a good choice for smaller implants
  • Silicone: These implants feel soft and natural
  • Gummy bear: A firm silicone implant that won’t deflate if the protective shell ruptures
  • Round: Silicone implants either have a teardrop shape or a more noticeable top curve
  • Smooth: Smooth implants have a supple feel and more natural movement.
  • Textured: Internal scar tissue adheres to textured implants
  • Silicone: These implants feel soft and natural

Dr. Obasi always uses the Keller Funnel to place all silicone implants. This is a no-touch technique that prevents infections and helps to easily insert the silicone implants into the breasts through very small incisions.

After surgery, your breasts will be wrapped in bandages and gauze or a specialized bra that supports recovery and healing.

You’ll schedule a follow-up appointment with Dr. Obasi, and you may be given a prescription for medication to help you manage your pain or prevent infection. You might be required to follow specific instructions for cleaning your incisions or changing your wound dressings.

Pain should subside after a few days, but you’ll most likely feel a decent amount of tenderness and swelling for several weeks. Once the swelling subsides, you’ll be able to see and enjoy the new and improved shape of your breasts.
