Male Breast Reduction in Allen TX Area

What is the male breast reduction procedure?

Male breast reduction surgery is a procedure designed to remove both fat and glandular breast tissue from the male chest. The surgery is typically performed on men with excessive fatty tissue or enlarged mammary glands. When done by a skilled cosmetic surgeon, there is minimal scarring on the chest, ensuring a natural look with noticeable changes!

What causes enlarged breasts in men?

Breasts that appear abnormally large in males often result from an imbalance of estrogen and testosterone hormones. This may be due to various factors such as puberty, obesity, aging, or certain medications. In some cases, enlarged breasts in men can also be the result of a benign (non-cancerous) tumor known as gynecomastia. During an evaluation, Dr. Patrick Obasi will determine if you can undergo this procedure safely and effectively.

What is the recovery like from gynecomastia surgery?

The recovery process from gynecomastia surgery is relatively short. After your procedure, you will likely feel groggy and sore; however, this can be relieved with prescribed pain medication. Dr. Patrick Obasi may also recommend wearing a compression garment to help reduce swelling in the chest area, while helping your body heal as quickly as possible. Most patients are able to return to work within one week of their male breast reduction surgery; however, strenuous activities should be avoided for about four weeks after the procedure. Contact Dr. Obasi today if you have further questions or concerns regarding what to expect during the recovery period after gynecomastia surgery.
